For the first time...

Well, you've missed the first 5 months of Zane's life. It's not completely your fault, don't feel too guilty. :) Here are a few of the new things Zane is doing.

2 weeks ago Zane started grabbing his foot. Last week he finally got it into his mouth. As soon as his toes made it past his gums he was bearing down on them as hard as he could. Even without teeth, you'd think he'd take it easy on those cute little piggies, but he has no mercy. Any chance he gets - sock or no sock - they go straight to his mouth.
This was Zane's first Thanksgiving - a very big holiday for Charlie's family. Since it was his first 'first' holiday you'd think I would have taken a ton of pictures, but I didn't. It was also our first big family outing - I knew we'd be there 6 hours or more - with lots of people wanting to hold a baby that doesn't like being held - so I was kind of preoccupied making sure he stayed happy. Another first happened during the Thanksgiving celebration - Zane's cousin Tyler held him for the first time. Zane kept reaching for him - it was so cute. You can't tell Tyler was forced to hold him, can you?
Friday was the first time Zane ate an entire serving of cereal off a spoon. I know 4 tablespoons doesn't sound like a lot, but when you're trying to aim a spoon of liquid into a mouth that doesn't want it in there and isn't really sure what to do with it, 4 tablespoons is a lot. And the majority of it actually made it down the pipes - the last couple of spoonfuls he started playing and pulling it off his tongue with his fingers. He thought it was pretty funny. Hopefully it won't be as funny when he starts eating more colorful foods.
