Mr. Minter

Mr. Minter was supposed to have surgery on Monday Jan 5th to have his bladder and prostate removed (he has bladder cancer). He was sick the weekend before. They got hold of the surgeon & he said to come to the hospital & they'd do some tests to decide if they would go ahead with the surgery. After several hours and tests, they decided to postpone the surgery.
Then, apparently
Mr. Minter had been sick the entire week after the surgery was cancelled and finally called Charlie on Friday Jan 9th and asked him to take him to the ER. He was severely dehydrated so they gave him a lot of fluid and admitted him to the hospital (our local one). The local doctors weren't really sure what to do with him because he had pneumonia and pulmonary edema, so we got a referral to a Houston doctor from the surgeon. We ended up waiting for a transfer to a Houston hospital until the next Friday when his GP decided he was better and released him from the hospital. He started feeling sick again the next week so Charlotte took him to the Methodist ER (didn't want to have to wait for a transfer this time) on Monday Jan 26th as a precaution. He was admitted to Methodist and they spent the week running tests and was finally released on Friday Jan 30th. Through all the tests - starting at the local hospital - they've determined he has emphysema and needs to be on oxygen from now on. He had an appointment with Dr. Ameil (surgeon) this week and everything is set to have surgery on Tuesday Feb 17th.
Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as this will be a very difficult surgery.
